Function
This product binds calcium, magnesium and trace metals such as iron and copper that are present in the process water or on the fibre. Left unchecked, these minerals cause scale, spotting and dull or uneven shades, and they can break down peroxide bleach before it has finished working. It is added to the same bath as scouring, bleaching or dyeing rather than used as a separate step.

- Hardness in process water causing scale, spotting or harsh handle
- Iron or copper spotting and rust-coloured marks on fabric
- Premature peroxide decomposition in bleaching baths caused by trace metal catalysis
- Dull or off-shade dyeing traced back to metal contamination
