Function
After dyeing, some dye remains loosely attached to the fabric surface rather than properly fixed. This product lifts that residual dye away and holds it in the wash water so it does not settle back onto the fabric. It is used in the washing-off step after reactive and other dyeing, and it improves wash and rub fastness.
Typical applications and what it solves
- Residual hydrolysed dye causing poor wash and rub fastness
- Colour bleeding onto adjacent white or pale fabric during laundering
- Dull or 'not clean' looking shade caused by surface dye that soaping should have removed
